Good Break Coffee
A moment to unwind in the city.
At Good Break Coffee in Omori, pair the bright, Ethiopian-led Good Blend or light- and dark-roast house coffees with homemade pound cake and thick-cut butter toasts.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Just beyond the shopping street in Omori, Good Break Coffee offers a calm kissaten setting devoted to carefully brewed, in-house roasted coffee and baked sweets. Vinyl record sleeves line the room to a gentle soundtrack, making the short wait for a pour-over—punctuated only by the whir of the grinder—part of the pleasure.
The signature Good Blend is an original recipe built around Ethiopian beans, marked by a bright citrus aroma and a clean, refreshing finish. Served hot or iced, its crisp profile goes down smoothly, making it an approachable choice even for those who prefer to avoid heavy bitterness. The single-origin lineup covers a wide spectrum of roast profiles, from a floral, light-roasted Guatemala to deep, nutty, and crisp dark-roasted options like Kilimanjaro and Brazil, alongside Yunnan and decaf selections tailored to your mood.
To accompany the coffee, the cafe bakes its own pound cakes, with flavors like lemon and triple nut. The vibrant citrus acidity of the lemon and the rich, toasty aroma of the mixed nuts both sit comfortably alongside the fruity undertones of Ethiopian coffees. For something more substantial, thick-cut toasts such as anko butter or honey butter arrive nicely browned, balancing a crisp exterior and chewy crumb with the rich, sweet-savory pull of melting butter.
Those after something gentler can turn to milk coffees like the brown sugar milk coffee sweetened with Okinawan kokuto, an iced cafe au lait layered with chewy house-made coffee jelly, or cups accented with honey or cinnamon. With counter stools, table seating, and Wi-Fi, the quiet interior suits solo reading or a quick break between tasks. Curbside pickup and takeout are also available, making it simple to grab a cup during an afternoon walk or errands.
